Numerous cases of diseases due to decoration pollution have been reported in recent years, and some of these are life-threatening conditions. According to a survey by China Indoor Environment Monitoring Center, indoor air pollution causes 4.3 million ER visits and 111,000 deaths annually, i.e. killing 304 people every day; of the 800,000 to 1.2 million newborns with congenital disabilities, 42.1% can be associated with indoor air pollution.
